In a comment posted on Monday, Peloton stated that it also removed the Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series, a collection of classes and workouts featuring music from Combs’ record label, from its platform. However, it did not indicate that music from past classes would be removed.
“This means our Instructors are no longer using his music in any newly produced classes,” Peloton said in the post.
CNN has reached out to Peloton for further comment.
The decision follows the release of hotel surveillance video from 2016, published by CNN, in which Combs appeared to grab, shove, drag, and kick his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. In a video statement posted on Instagram on Sunday, Combs admitted, “My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”
Combs had previously denied allegations contained in a lawsuit filed by Ventura last November, accusing him of rape and years of abuse. Since then, Combs has faced four other civil lawsuits accusing him of various forms of sexual misconduct and other illegal activities. One of these cases has been settled, but the other cases remain active.
In 2022, Peloton similarly “indefinitely paused” playing Kanye West’s music from its streaming workout classes after he made antisemitic comments. A fan website, Pelo Buddy, reported that Peloton had informed concerned members that its instructors were no longer using West’s music in newly produced classes and were not recommending previously produced workout classes that used his music.
