The entertainment industry has once again sparked heated debate. Teng Guang Zheng’s ex-girlfriend Pei Pei publicly detailed their past relationship. Consequently, Sun Yi faced suspicions of “knowingly interfering with an existing relationship” and promptly responded, claiming to have severed ties with Teng Guang Zheng. Teng Guang Zheng also shared their chat history with Pei Pei on social media, to show that he was not dating two people at the same time and to deny Sun Yi’s informed involvement.
Some observant netizens noticed that when both parties posted their statements, the IP addresses showed they were in Spain, which later changed to Beijing for Sun Yi. Other netizens claimed to have seen them together in real life, queuing up to buy bread when Sun Yi made her statement.
It was thought that the matter would come to a close. However, on April 13th, it was discovered online that Sun Yi had deleted her breakup statement and their IP addresses were now in Tianjin. One moment they claim to be single, and soon after they’re spotted together on multiple occasions; initially demanding a breakup, then seen being intimate in public; publicly announcing the end of the relationship, only to silently withdraw the statement. Does this indicate that the public has merely become a part of some strategy?
The image of Sun Yi as an “independent and clear-minded leading lady” seems to have collapsed. Some believe she’s been blinded by love, while others think she’s overconfident, trying to enjoy the benefits of being above the public while privately dating. Do celebrities sometimes believe that with enough popularity, any attention, whether good or bad, doesn’t matter? Or are they so overwhelmed by fan praise that they forget their real identity?
The halo of a star is forged by the spotlight and fan support, and a humble attitude might well be the key to longevity in the industry. True humility comes from within wisdom. Humble individuals recognize the importance of self-reflection and continually inspect their own behavior and attitude, thereby understanding their strengths and weaknesses. Such self-awareness assists in continual learning and improvement, laying the foundation for growth and advancement.
In yoga practice, every pose has its unique nature and benefits. For instance, backbends open the heart, twists purify the body and mind, balancing poses cultivate focus, support demonstrates resilience, inversions encourage bravery, and forward bends bring humility. Forward bends in yoga refer to the action of leaner body parts coming closer to the legs by using the hip joint as the bending point, the femur as support, and tilting the pelvis forward as the base – specifically, the flexion movement of the hip joint.
In our daily lives, our “head” is often at the highest point of the body, where our self-awareness resides. When we perform a forward bend, we are actively lowering ourselves, bringing our heads down towards the ground, demonstrating a letting go of the “self” and expressing humility to the world. For example, the forward bending movement in the Sun Salutation is an homage to the Sun deity, and the reverence in our hearts makes us more humble.
However, this does not mean that we are weak or have an inferiority complex, nor should we feel humiliated. Bending forward is a display of humility, the courage to accept our own imperfections, and a form of self-reflection. By bowing down, we can not only more deeply examine our inner self but also clearly see our past through our legs, understanding everything we have been through, and such self-examination can help us reflect, observe and more effectively explore our inner world, promoting a stable mind and emotions.
When the body or mental state is not fully relaxed, or when flexibility is lacking, trying to perform a forward bend might bring discomfort or pain, possibly causing inner grievances or uneasiness. In this situation, we must respect the feelings of the body, avoid over-pursuing the depth of the pose, and maintain a relaxed, focused, and patient mindset during practice.
The pose introduced this time is the Humble Warrior from the Warrior series, which combines elements of balance and forward bending. Unlike other Warrior poses, it guides us to focus on the inside and learn an attitude of humility. The benefits of the Humble Warrior pose include:
- Stretching the side body, shoulders, back, and rear thigh muscles
- Strengthening the leg muscles, enhancing leg strength
- Strengthening the ankles, knees, and hips
- Improving the body’s balance and control abilities
- Massaging the abdominal organs, promoting the digestive system’s function
- Stimulating blood flow to the head and face, activating the nervous system
To practice the Humble Warrior pose correctly, please follow these instructions:
- Start in Mountain pose, standing ready, feet hip-width apart, second and third toes pointing straight forward. Step the left foot back a large step, toes turned out 45 to 60 degrees, right leg bent until the lower leg is perpendicular to the floor, arms raised, eyes looking forward.
- Let your hands fall to the back, interlocking fingers, slightly bending the elbows. Inhale to lift the chest and elongate the spine, exhale to lean forward from the hips.
- The upper body leans forward and down, keeping the arms constant in their shape.
- Maintain shoulder rotation, extend the spine with each inhale, and deepen the fold with each exhale, holding for 6 to 8 breaths.
- Finally, return to the starting position through an inhalation, and then you can continue to Downward Dog or Child’s Pose for a rest.
About the details of various parts of the body:
- The front foot should be firmly on the ground, the heel of the back foot pressed down, if unable to press down a yoga block can be used for support.
- Spread the legs, the front leg’s thigh and calf perpendicular, the muscles of the back leg tight and lifting.
- Leg movements may cause the hips to move forward, be aware of this and neutralize it through proper adjustment.
- The torso should remain elongated while closing the rib cage.
- Keep the shoulders externally rotated, arms not hyperextended.
- Relax the neck, tilt the head forward to search for the ground.
Some groups of people should avoid practicing this movement: Pregnant women, individuals with lower back pain, knee discomfort, heart disease, and those with low blood pressure, as well as women who are menstruating, should not practice. Meanwhile, individuals with high blood pressure should lower the height of their hands while practicing.
